Iphoneography is huge these days. It is not hard to understand why. The phones and tablets are popular because of the quality of their cameras, with each generation better than the previous. While the convenience of having a camera ready for informal photography, the Apple products have been shown to be just as good for professional footage.
This Bentley commissioned a short documentary film called Intelligent Details to showcase how the integrated ipads in the Bentley Mulsane are used to edit the ad and documentary after the iphone video shoot .
Austin Reza of Reza & Co., the film’s director said, “We undertook the challenge utilizing three Apple iPhones (5s) and a few, select, third-party products.” The latter included specialized grips and lenses as outlined in this Adweek post. The Filmic Pro software app was also used.
Austin summed it all up, “The film was assembled in the comfort of the Mulsanne’s back seat with fully integrated iPad Airs. Using iMovie we were able to complete initial cuts and review rushes. We were also amazed at the quality of the phone footage once we moved to the black and white timing. The entire production staff was shocked to see how beautiful the final shots actually looked.”
It’s no wonder that the team will continue to use these highly versatile and effective setups.
