Kyson Dana is a brand designer working in San Francisco. He also happens to be a new Dad. His son, Theo was born in 2014. It was little Theo who inspired him to create his beautiful alphabet illustrations. He explained, “I wanted to create something new for my son, something that he could someday look at and be proud of his dad. I was so sick of looking at terribly illustrated baby books that decided it was time to create my own artwork that I could compile into an alphabet book.”
Kyson decided to use animals for his alphabet illustrations and challenged his friend and fellow illustrator to a drawing duel on Instagram, #SketchAZduel. The idea was to draw an animal and submit it to the site before the end of the day. The adventure created 26 stunning illustrations, all photographed from the artist’s perspective.
J is for Jaguar, E is for Elephant and O is for Octupus are all pretty easy to spot. But U is for sloth? It is the unau or 2 two-ed sloth! Simply delightful collection. Check out Kyson’s Instagram for more pictures.
