Shutterfly’s TripPix Makes Printing Your Own Travel Photo Albums Easy

Long gone are the days when we used to print out all our travel pictures. Most of those pictures stay on our mobile devices and on the internet. But Shutterfly aims to change all that with their TripPix service. A series of photographs can selected for printing directly from an app on iOS devices.  The result is a customized travel photo album that will hold its own on the coffee table.

Wet Origami Art and Photography by Hoang Tien Quyet

Most people are familiar with the geometric type of origami. But there is another art form pioneered by the Japanese master origamist, Akira Yoshizawa, which uses wet paper. Vietnamese origami artist, Hoang Tien Quyet, excels at this variant as you can see with his beautiful wet origami art shown here. His skill with this sculptural artform makes the wet folded paper creatures  softer and much more rounded with far fewer sharp paper creases.

Pressed Fern Art and Photography by Helen Ahpornsiri

Helen Ahspornsiri is a UK based artist and illustrator who creates beautiful nature inspired art by carefully putting together the leaves and fronds of pressed ferns.  She says she collects “a variety of fern species grown by myself or foraged from around the UK, each leaf, or frond, is pressed for at least one month. It is then cut, arranged and delicately positioned to create intricate designs.”

SnapCam – A Wearable Lifelogging Camera Which Shoots Stills or Video

It is getting easier and easier to share the minutiae of one’s life.  The latest wearable lifelogging camera, Snapcam from the iON camera company, not only allows users to easily take pictures and HD video but even offers a livestreaming mode for real time sharing through its Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity.  The tiny camera measures just 1.5 inches square and can be attached to clothing via a magnetic clip.  It connects to a smartphone app.
