Kano, the London based company best known for their DIY computer kits, have come up with an innovative DIY camera kit. They have launched a Kickstarter project to bring it to market. The camera kit is designed not just for children but for anyone curious about technology.
The basic parts of the 5 megapixel camera can be assembled Lego-style with the aid of a storybook.
The goal is to teach the builder about light and focus. Once built, the user learns to code to make photo filters, colorful flashes and even trip sensors using simple building code blocks on the Kano site.
There are also other apps available. The apps can be uploaded to the camera for all sorts of creative uses.
The Kano camera kit is available for as a Kickstarter pledge for $99. The early bird orders will ship in May 2017. Its retail price is expected to be $130.
